Castles

Only in the village of Tirol we already have five castles, not all of them open to the public but yet you can tell that it is the land of castles.

You can visit the castle of Tirol, the castle which gave the region its name; it is also the museum hosting the history of the land South Tyrol. In the "Burgfried" you can find an interesting exhibition about South Tyrol in the 20^th century www.schlosstirol.it. Also visit the bird care centre www.gufyland.com which is right next to the castle.

Very interesting the Brunnenburg in Dorf Tirol hosting the agricultural museum.

Schloss Trauttmansdorff  with its botanical garden and the touriseum is always worth a visit.  www.trauttmansdorff.it
