In our garden you can find everything from local plants, flowers, to shrubs from the Mediterranean area, which we took home from one of our journeys. You will be surprised how much there is to discover and keep your eyes open for the hidden treasures.
Local plants
For sure everybody has heard of the Meranerrose with its small yellow flowers and many more. In our small fruit plantation you can also find a large variety of local apples and pears. Moreover we also have a variety of very old types of apple trees which one can not buy in shops anymore. We think its important to have a large variety and want to protect the old types - the "Kalterer" with its thick skin and the red cheeks, the "Grauvensteiner" or the "Champagner"-apple became extremely rare. The new and modern Golden, Pink Lady, Braeburn and Granny Smith made their way and can be sold in a much more profitable way.
Plants from overseas
Our favourites: a so called strawberry tree lat. Arbutus with its small, red fruits also used for a superb jam; the „Hartriegel" lat. Cornus, with an enormous blossom in spring and the amazing colours in autumn; the lat. Plumeria - or also so called Frangipani - with the beautiful white flowers which we only know from the South sea. Something special is also the lat. Davidia involucrata and the tulip tree.
And those we just mentioned are only a few of what is waiting for you in our garden.
