Mario Soldati used to say: „ Wine is the worlds poetry." The reason for finding the passion for wine in a land like South Tyrol is not out of question. The varieties of the land of South Tyrol also say everything about its wines. South Tyrol has a 3000 year old history of viticulture and it is therefore the oldest winegrowing land in the German speaking area.
On a winegrowing land of about 5000 hectare we cultivate about 20 different kinds of vine, the most common of them Vernatsch, Lagrein, Blauburgunder but also international vine. There are about 160 wine producing companies; some of the wine cellars and cooperation's are close to us.
